Reading Series 2 – July 27th 2-4
You are invited to the second event of Garden Plot Reading Series on Saturday, July 27th with Author Sylvia Taylor, Poet Ashok Bhargava, Artist/Performer Candice James and Open Mic Opener Helga Parekh. Our Host Rhiannon Marshall is an emerging poet who also co-organizes Cedar Bark Poets. We are set to have another great Summer afternoon, thanks to the people who came out in June to make it a warm, inspiring and engaging event.

Buck Full Moon Drum Circle this evening Tuesday July 16 at the PLOT Sharing Garden! 6pm to 7:30pm at the Medicine Wheel
Bring your drum or rattle and a lawn chair if you wish. Looks like it will be an amazing evening! Hosted by our PLOT Indigo Girl Francesca! Big Thanks! ( A few rattles, drums etc available if you do not have an instrument)

Join us for the first event of Garden Plot Reading Series on Saturday, June 29th. We are set to have a great Summer afternoon with storytelling by Author Veeno Dewan, Poetry readings by Lozan Yamolky, and a special presentation on runes by Rune Master Richard E. Hanson. The Open Mic session will begin with author Malcolm Van Delst presenting from her novel. The event will be hosted by Teresa Klein, the guiding energy behind the establishment and sustenance of a community garden in Newton.

This interdisciplinary reading series offers featured presenters, time for participants to ask questions and exchange views, an open mic, refreshments, and, the opportunity to be in a tent pitched in the green surroundings of a garden and medicine wheel. Mark your calendar from June to August 2019.

Solstice Celebration, June 23
SUN, JUNE 23: SUMMER SOLSTICE – 12PM – 4PM: Starting Noon, join the observation of Summer Solstice at the Newton Medicine Wheel located beside the PLOT gardens.

Laughter Day, Sunday May 5
This Sunday’s forecast is sunny again; perfect for a little get together to share in laughter.
???Work Party & Laughter Day – Sunday, May 5 – 11:00 am to 3:30 pm???
– Where: The PLOT (71st Ave and 137A St)
– What to do: Watering and turning some beds over and general upkeep.
– What to bring: Work gloves, favourite weeding tools, fruit or light snack to share. Some tools are available for use at PLOT and some snacks will be also provided. For Laughter Day, you can also bring funny jokes and story and silly costume.
– Laughter Day – Presented by Zina: We will gather after some work at 12:00 noon to read and share jokes and funny anecdotes.. There will be fun games and challenges. Come in your silly and wacky costumes or accessories and don’t forget to laugh out loud!

Work Party/Planning Social
This coming SUNDAY MARCH 17 we will meet up at the PLOT for a first time in the garden for spring clean up, followed by tea/coffee.
WHEN: SUNDAY MARCH 17 11:30 am to 3pm pm followed by tea/coffee and a PLOT visit planning meet up from 3 pm to 4 pm.
WHERE: PLOT Garden for work party
LOCATION FOR TEA/COFFEE AT 3PM: Room number #4 is booked for 2:45 to 4:45 in the Ice Arena. If the weather is glorious we may want to stay at the PLOT.

WHERE: ROOM #4 NEWTON REC CENTRE (In the Ice Arena Building) We will walk together to the adjacent Newton Medicine Wheel at NOON weather permitting returning to arena to feast and visit.

WHAT TO BRING: A short poem or quote, something to share for pot luck, drum, rattle or music maker. Please dress for weather. (Bringing your own cup, dishes and cutlery is appreciated)
