This Wishing Tree was started at the Plot Summer Party and grew with the wishes and prayers of those in the community. This tree carried the words of so many hearts, in so many languages, all of them written in the universal language of longing.

So many added a wish to this tree of hope.  And then it was cut down.

We were all heartbroken, we knew the magnitude of loving and healing thoughts that had been part of the wishing tree.

It was pre-teen Zena who noticed that the tree’s stump was the shape of a heart. It was a beautiful reminder that the love and kind intentions that we send out into the world live on.
